Vintage Guitar Magazine says:
"This makes it two in a row for David Michael Miller. His Poi-sons Sipped was one of last year’s surprise albums, introducing us to a songwriter, guitarist, and singer who is the whole package. Same Soil builds on that with its clear understanding of the blues, soul, and everything in between. Throughout it all, Miller’s guitar play-ing is more than solid, supplying the mojo for most of the songs. His deep growl is fiercely soulful and he soars into upper registers, calling to mind the late Chris Whitley at his finest.  While working in what could loosely be called the blues, Miller covers a lot of ground. “All The Blues To You” is swampy funk. “Just Ride” shows off his patience in letting the groove control things. He and his band’s willingness to let the song grow, along with the incredible use of dynam-ics, is one of many aspects that make his music some of the best out there today. Miller handles all the guitar parts perfectly. Whether swinging slide work or on-the-money rhythm, it all fits. – John Heidt"

David Michael Miller @ Galaxy Brewing Company w/Miller and The Other Sinners :: 9PM in Binghamton, NY

Galaxy Brewing Company w/Miller and The Other Sinners :: 9PM, Binghamton, NY

Miller and The Other Sinners is a nationally touring Southern Soul band from Buffalo, NY, bringing a blend of gut bucket delta grit, memphis soul, gospel spirit and funky rhythm and blues. Since starting touring in August of 2015 they have performed over 350 shows across 18 states and two countries, from house parties to festivals. They have an unforgettable show filled with infectious grooves and tremendous musicianship all supporting well written songs that really connect.

David Michael Miller, founder, lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter for Miller and The Other Sinners, is a well established musician in the Western New York (WNY) music scene. Raised on gospel and radio, David loved the sounds of soul music from an early age and began writing playing and writing music as a child. His music was kept mainly in the church until he was in his 30’s and began playing blues and soul music around WNY in area clubs and dives. For 6 years he fronted the band, Dive House Union (DHU) which recorded two live albums, one in the prestigious Kleinhan's Music Hall in Buffalo, NY and one in the historic Aurora Theater, in East Aurora, NY. David has shared the stage with artists such as Tedeschi Trucks Band, Steve Miller Band, Joe Bonamassa, Jonny Lang, Gary Clark Jr., Bobby Blue Bland, Jimmie Vaughan, Shemekia Copeland, Lowest of the Low and many others.

David represented the WNY Blues Society in 2013 and 2014 at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in both the Band and Solo/Duo categories. He continues to participate in the Blues in the Schools program in Western New York. In 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016, he was presented with the best Male Blues Vocalist Award by Buffalo's Night Life Magazine and in 2015 was presented with the Arts Services Institute award for "Artist of the Year."

David's has built on the successful independent release of his first solo album in 2014, Poisons Sipped, which landed in the the top 25 Blues Rock Albums of 2014 on the Roots Music Report. His new album, Same Soil, debuted at #11 the second week of July on the RMR Blues chart and then climbed to #3 with two songs in the top 50 Blues songs played worldwide on radio and internet radio. In early 2017 he released a live album of his band, Miller and The Other Sinners, title, "3 Nights At The Strand."

With his band Miller and The Other Sinners, David rocked stages at festivals nationwide such as Muskiest 2016, Telluride Blues and Brews Festival 2016 w/Isaac Aragon, Silver City Blues Festival 2016 and the Boots, Brews and Bacon Festival 2016. They are booked again at several of these including the Crawdaddy's Blues Festival, East Aurora Music Festival, Corn Hill Arts Festival, Fairport Music Festival and Poudre River Fest.

David is accompanied by a killer core of “Other Sinners" often including, Jay Moynihan on sax and guitar (Buddy Guy's former sax player for nearly 10 years), and members of the world renown Campbell Brothers. Though often touring as a 4 piece, they do expand to a 9 piece for larger events, including two additional horn players, backup singers and keyboards.

This is what Selwyn BirchwoodAlligator Recording Artist, and winner of Blues Music Award for "Best New Artist Debut!!" said about David Michael Miller's 2014 breakout solo record, Poisons Sipped:

"Poisons Sipped is a perfect cocktail of Blues, Soul, and Gospel flavors! Do yourself a favor and treat your ears to one of the best albums of the year!"

and here is what Selwyn has to say about Miller's follow up album, Same Soil, releasing July 1st, 2015

Same Soil is a splendid example of how versatile this artist is.  David Michael Miller is as diverse as he is soulful!"

SAME SOIL is a tribute to the fertile blues/roots tradition influencing David Michael Miller’s unique style, following the heels of his breakout album, Poisons Sipped. Co-produced, mixed and engineered by Grammy Nominated producer, Mike Brown, at Temperamental Studio (featured on American Pickers), over half of this album was tracked with pre-WWII instruments and using old mic’ing techniques.  Along with the vintage equipment, David brought in a host of veteran players to bring the songs to life including keyboardist Jim Ehinger (Bonnie, Raitt, Albert Collins, Billy Vera and The Beaters), saxophonist Jason Moynihan (Buddy Guy) and drummer Carlton Campbell (of The Campbell Brothers).  David explores songs inspired by Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Bo Diddley as well as a blend of americana, soul and gospel influences.

The album features songs that take the listener from hard driving acoustic blues, through greasy shuffles, gospel beats, slow moody  ballads, on to funky blues rock and concluding with a heart wrenching song written to honor his grandfather who passed on during the recording of the album.

SAME SOIL ALBUM REVIEWS

REVIEWS OF MY NEW ALBUM, "SAME SOIL":

Bill Wilson
http://chickenwilson2.blogspot.com/p/july-2015-reviews.html?m=1
"..David Michael Miller is, without question, the real deal...Same Soil could almost be considered a monument to the Blues and to the old masters.  This is a recording worthy of a Handy Award to be sure...Same Soil is a great piece of work...powerful, passionate and totally honest.  Do yourself a favor and don't let this one slip through your fingers.  It is well worth the time, money and effort to track this one down and make it part of your collection."

Chris Spector
http://www.midwestrecord.com/MWR971.html
"..Miller steps right into the blue collar vibe and not only hits the ground running but tears the ground up in Roadrunner fashion like Coyote is hot on his tail. Like a continuation of prime JJ Cale, this set might just have you feeling like you're going back to Tulsa for more of that deceptively laid back sound. Killer stuff that deserves all the praise it's been collecting.."

Rudolf van der Ree
http://www.rudolfsmusic.com/david-michael-miller/
"The singer songwriter has a very different style. From blues and R & B to folk. This ensures that the album sounds timeless."

Eric Schuurmans
http://rootstime.be/index.html?http://rootstime.be/CD%20REVIEUW/2015/JUNI1/CD142.html
“ Again David Michael Miller impresses with his amazing voice.  On his new album ‘Same Soil’, he creates moods without outdoing himself. The fantastic  grooves of each of the members of the band, fly around your ears and soothe your soul. They must have been cultivated in blues soil… ”

Norman Darwin
http://www.bluesinthenorthwest.com/index.php/2015/07/03/review-david-michael-miller-same-soil/
"All the songs are originals and tend to avoid blues clichés. There are some occasional bursts of truly fierce guitar playing, whilst ‘Too Early In The Morning’ is a lazily grooving number before the wildly rocking closing segment; the CD ends with the folky, moving ‘Man’s Got Things To Do’. Nice to note that David certainly doesn’t believe in playing it safe – and this set is an excellent justification for such an approach."

John Porter - The Professor
http://ideastations.org/music/time-blues/professors-picks-lawrence-olds-band-david-michael-miller-slam-allen-shaun-murphy
"Miller displays his versatility throughout the record, sliding comfortably from the Delta to Gospel to smoky nightclub blues with barely a pause…This album has something for just about every blues lover and shows great promise for the future."

Sheryl and Don Crow
 - https://donandsherylsbluesblog.wordpress.com/2015/07/09/david-michael-miller-review-july-9-2015/
"Hot on the heels of his breakout album, “Poisons Sipped,” David Michael Miller is back with an even stronger sophomore set of  hard-hitting blues mixed with gospel inflections and some fine ballads as well...David Michael Miller travels over that sacred “Same Soil” that the blues forefathers trod upon for the inspiration for this fine set.  He shows a strong versatility thru killer musicianship and clever, thought-provoking lyrics."

Eric Campfens - BarnOwlBlues
http://barnowlblues.punt.nl/content/2015/07/David-Michael-Miller-Same-Soil
"I liked his first album already very good, this is even better. David Michael Miller is one of those artists with original songs on their own works on his career. And at an exceptionally high level."

Lou Lombardi
http://bluesrockreview.com/2015/07/david-michael-miller-same-soil-review.html
"David Michael Miller has the potential to go anywhere and be anything in this business that he wants. He could easily be the next great blues super star ala Robert Cray or Bonnie Raitt. In the mean time we can all groove to Same Soil while we see what the future holds."

Gary Schwind
http://www.axs.com/david-michael-miller-mixes-blues-and-gospel-on-same-soil-61336
“David Michael Miller is a singer-songwriter from western New York - although you'd probably never guess that from his sound. A more likely guess would be somewhere in the south - or perhaps Chicago - when you hear the way he plays the blues on his new album Same Soil..Miller shows his talent as a blues songwriter as well as his connection to gospel music on this album. If you're a fan of groovy blues, this album will fit right into your collection.”

Bman
http://www.bmansbluesreport.com/2015/07/food-for-soul-records-artist-david.html
"I just received the newest release, Same Soil, from David Michael Miller and it, like his 2014 release, Poisons Sipped , it's quite remarkable!"

Rex and the Bass
http://www.rexbass.com/2015/08/album-review-david-michael-miller-same.html
" David Michael Miller turned in a solid performance on Same Soil with mature songwriting, good musicianship, and excellent production values. It is totally worth your time, so check it out if you get a chance!"
